Overview

The Technate of Aquanda is an island nation located between Meltra and Novia. Aquanda is the only nation in the world to have settlements and infrastructure underwater. As a result, it is the only nation in the world that utilizes water as a source of energy and power. That being said, it is also one the most technologically advanced countries, behind Arcinia.

Society

As a result of being the only nation with underwater settlements and infrastructure, Aquanda is the only nation in the world to have a type that makes up a majority of its population of 46.1 million, that being Water. Although Grass and Flying types are also still notable. This also means that a majority of the population also lives underwater. This divides the country into two groups.

Overseaers

Those who live above the sea and on the land that Aquanda controls are called the Overseaers. Most Overseaers are typically those who are not Water types. Although, Water types who choose to live as an Overseaer but has the ability to live comfortably underwater are not completely unheard of.

Underseaers

Those who live under the sea where Aquanda has built underwater settlements and infrastructure are called the Underseaers. Practically all Underseaers are Water types, although, there are some rare cases of non Water types being able to live underwater. Underseaers typically live more luxurious and comfortable lives than Overseaers due to the underwater settlements and infrastructure having more focus in the last few decades. Underseaers also disproportionately have more representation in the government due to most universities and other such facilities also being located underwater.

Government

Aquanda is the only country that is a technocracy, meaning the government is run by experts rather than by monarchs or elected officials, making the nation known as the Nation of Efficiency as a result. However, this also means that the government is not very democratic, with little to no representation for the average citizen, especially towards Overseaers.

Economy

The Undersea is a major contributor to the overall economic output of Aquanda. Aquanda’s economy thrives on both trade. Aquanda's economy thrives in the industries of book publishing and technology.
